Fuel Cell Technology

The Fuel Cell Technology website was developed using HTML/CSS

Fuel Cell Technology is an interactive, insightful website for museum attendees, organizations, businesses and individuals who are interested in learning about fuel cell technology and alternative power sources. Since the initial invention of the fuel cell, subsequent developments have made a significant impact on science and technology around the world. Fuel Cell Technology provides historical information, interesting facts, and photographs to educate the users about the history, progress and present-day benefits of fuel cells with a goal to persuade the users to be more environmentally-conscious and proactive.

Fuel Cell Technology caters to museum attendees and web users who desire to learn through an interactive kiosk or web experience. The design of Fuel Cell Technology communicates through concise, sectioned, non-scrolling organized information and images. The information is separated by categories answering the following questions: “who, what, when, where, why and how?”. Each section includes a factoid and attractive image which draw in users and elaborate on the main information. The design utilizes Trebuchet MS font in the primary links, and Arial font is used in all of the main content.

The website uses the color orange to represent the energy that fuel cells produce. The color green in the logo and throughout the website represents the benefit to the environment that fuel cells provide. The color blue represents water which is the fuel cell’s only emission. Because the main use of fuel cells today is for automobiles, the word “cell” in the website logo is fit into four circles to represent four car wheels. All of the website information is contained inside several rectangular sections because fuel cells are used in the form of rectangular fuel cell stacks.
